Foodmate Joins Gelatin Quality and Standards Seminar in China

On August 6, the Gelatin Industry Quality Analysis and Standards Seminar was held in Shanghai, China, organized by the Gelatin Branch of the China Daily Chemicals Association and the Subcommittee on Collagen and Gelatin of the Technical Committee for Group Standards.

As a co-organizer of the event, Foodmate joined representatives from industry associations, research institutions and companies across the gelatin supply chain to discuss global gelatin quality standards, regulatory developments and industry trends, with a focus on supporting the international development of China’s gelatin industry.

Making Better Gelatin in China

At the seminar, Mr. Zhang Peng, Founder and CEO of Foodmate, welcomed the participating experts, industry leaders and fellow professionals on behalf of the company, and expressed his appreciation to the China Daily Chemicals Association for providing a valuable platform for industry exchange.

Mr. Zhang noted that the seminar’s theme, “Standards Lead, Compliance Enables Global Growth”, addresses an important challenge facing the industry today. As gelatin and collagen peptides continue to expand into food, nutrition and health, personal care and other applications, competition is moving beyond products alone toward a broader focus on standards, regulatory compliance and quality.

Foodmate has long regarded standards as an integral part of its quality management approach. The company obtained ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, HACCP and GMP certifications as early as 2014 and has established a comprehensive traceability system covering the production process.

As international regulations continue to evolve and customer quality requirements become increasingly stringent, industry collaboration, standards development, and robust quality management are becoming increasingly important to the global competitiveness of China’s gelatin industry.

Foodmate has actively aligned its quality and compliance practices with international requirements. In 2025, the company obtained EU registration, followed by MUI and BPJPH Halal certifications in Indonesia in early 2026. Today, Foodmate’s products are exported to more than 100 countries and regions worldwide.

Sharing Gelatin Quality and Compliance Practices

Ms. Wang Ying, Quality Director of Foodmate, also delivered a presentation titled “Gelatin Quality Compliance: From Chinese National Standards and Pharmacopoeias to Global Applications.” The presentation provided an overview of domestic and international gelatin standards, regulatory requirements and quality management practices.

Drawing on GB 6783, the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, European Pharmacopoeia (EP), United States Pharmacopeia (USP), Japanese Pharmacopoeia (JP) and other relevant standards, the presentation compared regulatory requirements, quality evaluation systems and testing methods across major global markets.

Ms. Wang also shared Foodmate’s approach to establishing an integrated quality management system covering product development, raw material traceability, laboratory testing, quality control and global regulatory compliance. Such a system helps ensure consistent product quality while supporting customers’ requirements across different international markets.

The seminar also featured in-depth discussions among industry experts on evolving global regulations, standards development, testing technologies and future industry trends, providing further insights into the high-quality development of the gelatin industry.
